Haute Couture.

Haute couture  is the creation of exclusive custom fitted high-end fashion clothing usually made by hand from start to finish. These garments are high-quality, expensive with often unusual fabrics and sewn with extreme attention to detail and finish by the most experience sewers, using time-consuming and executed techniques. Haute couture was founded by dressmaker Charles Frederick Worth who opened his prestigious fashion house in Paris in 1858 with the aim of unifying design and fabrication under one roof. Haute couture was the highest point of French couture when designers like Christobal Balenciaga, Pierre Balmain and Jacques Fath dominated fashion, and headlines in New York were held for the latest news from Paris however this decade belongs to Christian Dior when he launched his new house in 1947 with the defining “New Look” titled by editor in-chief of Harpers Bazaar, Carmel Snow, when she said “your dresses have such a New Look”. Christian created one of the most successful fashion houses of the 20th century. Paris was then re-owned worldwide as the centre of creative design and skilful production of luxurious high fashion.
